Absolute abuse of the Buitenveldertbaan today, starting at 6.30 am until now and will go on for the rest of the afternoon. Every minute another plane thunders over Randwijk, across the houses at around 400 metres. It is disgusting. Today, I called Bas to complain as it is not normal to use a runway for hours and hours non stop over a residential area. It is relentless and I hope people will call to complain and not only post to Bas.nl. It feels fruitless though and Schiphol feels unreachable and is just a greedy deaf monster. It is not the same as speaking to a neighbour who is creating too much noise or acting antisocially, this is hundreds of planes roaring one after another over your head driving you crazy eventually. How can a barbecue or any party be planned in your garden with the uncertainty that Schiphol decides to use the Buitenveldertbaan for the whole day? It is not only embarrassing, but strips you of your freedom. A moderate wind they say- well if I can ride my bike around every day then a plane should be able to manage. What a total nightmare.
