Weer een helse dag dankzij het bijna continue en overmatige gebruik van de Buitenveldertbaan door Schiphol. Het tart echt de overtuiging dat er geen strategie is om de impact op de gemeenschap te minimaliseren wanneer een hoofdtaak lange tijd in onderhoud is, iets dat ruim van tevoren was gepland. In plaats daarvan is 100% van de kosten gewoon doorberekend aan de bewoners. Als Schiphol start- en landingsbanen voor een langere periode wil sluiten, moet zij alle bijbehorende kosten dragen, ook als dat betekent dat het aantal vluchten in die periode moet worden verminderd. Als dit echt het geval zou zijn, zou ik zeker een bijna wonderbaarlijke vermindering van het baanonderhoud zien en een verschuiving naar nachtelijk onderhoud om de verstoring van hun bedrijf tot een minimum te beperken. -------------------------------------- Another hellish day thanks to Schiphol’s near continuous and excessive use of the Buitenveldertbaan. It really defies belief when a main runway is under extended maintenance, something that was planned well in advance, that there is no strategy for minimising the impact on the community. Instead 100% of the cost has just been shifted onto residents. If Schiphol wants to close runways for extended periods of time, then they should bare all the associated costs even if that means reducing the number of flight during the period. If this was actually the case I’m sure we’d see an almost miraculous reduction in runway maintenance periods, and a shift to maintenance at night so as to minimise the disruption to their business.
